I – and friends and family – did plenty of guessing about the sex of my babies before I had them confirmed at a 20-week scan, but I would never have dared say I wanted one sex over the other. “As long as he/she is happy and healthy, that’s all that matters,” was my general response to questions regarding gender. I never intended to find out, but my husband wanted to, and right at the end of the scan curiosity got the better of me and I gave in. When I was pregnant with my twins a couple of years later I wanted to know for practical reasons. I figured there were enough surprises already so I didn’t need any additional ones, and it would be good to know whether or not the babies could have any of their big sister’s hand-me-downs.
However, today, The Duchess of Cambridge has apparently done just that thing I would never have done. According to the Huffington Post, she reportedly told a soldier at a St. Patrick’s Day ceremony that, at five months pregnant, she doesn’t know the sex of her first baby, but she is hoping for a boy. Prince William on the other hand would like a girl.
So, what are the likely names? Has Kate devised the boy list and Wills the girls? Whatever the case, here is the list of what @PaddyPower thinks are the likely candidates Baby Names
